The Bootleg Story

Our roots run deep in Appalachian tradition. Back when liquor was outlawed, moonshiners worked by firelight, distilling in hidden stills and delivering their jars under cover of night. We carry that same spirit of craftsmanship today — not in jars of shine, but in soy wax candles, wood wick crackle, and carefully blended scents.

Each of our 20+ signature fragrances are designed to transport you to another place and time: a ride down a dirt road, a night at a smoky speakeasy, or a quiet moment on a cabin porch. Whether you choose a classic mason jar candle, wax melt, or diffuser, you’re not just buying a scent — you’re bringing home a piece of prohibition heritage.

Get The Most Out Of Your Candle

Keeping It Lit

It is especially important to trim your wood wicks before relighting. After it burns there will be some loose, flakey burnt wood on the top of the wick. Just pinch or trim that and it'll light right back up.

Avoid Tunneling

Always allow your candle to produce a full melt pool before putting it out. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size and shape of the candle. Try to take this into consideration before you light it up.

Burn Time

You can expect approx. 80-90 hours out of our mason jar candle and 40-50 hours out of our whiskey glass candle. We recommend not burning more than 4-6 hours at a time to avoid excessive fragrance burn off. This will insure you get great scent throw each time you light your candle.

All Used Up

Once your candle is burnt to about 1/4" from the bottom, it is at the end of it's life. Just throw it in the freezer for a bit to shrink the wax and you can clean it out and reuse the vessel for something else. Our mason jars make great vases. Our whiskey glasses of course make great whiskey glasses in their next life!
